What to Watch | Our Picks for Top Movies to Catch this Year
With all of the quality cinema set to premier this year, we could go on for paragraphs with our recommendations. But, for the sake of eye strain we'll stick to a selective five, in order of their release date from Rotten Tomatoes.
Glass
Release date: 1.18.19 (aka TODAY)
The long awaited follow-up to M. Night Shyamalan's world is here. Stories of Unbreakable and Split (FYI if you haven't seen both of these movies, you need a binge before heading to the theater for this one) come together for a cumulative story. What plot twists will be revealed this time? We can only guess.
Avengers: Endgame
Release date: 4.26.19
I mean, of course this is on the list. If you haven't been keeping up with the Marvel universe (first of all, w h y) then skip ahead. If you have taste in cinematic meets nerdy meets action - continue.
The film promises to finally bring resolution to all things disrupting the Avenger world since last year's installment. Audiences will finally get answers for all the questions (and characters) that have been left (literally) floating in space.
Men in Black: International
Release date: 6.14.19 (tentative)
Though, unfortunately, there's no sight of Will Smith nor Tommy Lee Jones in this one, the film shows a lot of promise with a reunion of Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson investigating a mole in the MIB organization.
Ford v. Ferrari
Release date: 6.28.19
We don't have too much yet to go off of except that 1) cars and 2) Christian Bale + Matt Damon so we're pretty much sold here.
The movie is a based-on-true-events sports drama about American motor company Ford’s efforts to build a race worthy car to rival the Ferrari team at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
Kingsman 3
Release date: 11.8.19
The third installment of the series comes to an end. We don't know too many details yet except it's set to conclude the relationship between Egerton and Firth's characters. But if the finale is anything like the first two (which it will be) say no more - we'll be buying pre-sale tickets as soon as they're available.
